Harmony Glassworks is looking for a glassblower
We are looking for a glassblower with intermediate to advanced skills that is strong enough to help with the assembly of large pieces. The job description includes assisting, production and a little bit of everything from gallery sales to cold work to studio maintenance, whatever is on the agenda. We have suspended glassblowing classes for 2021, but classes are something we used to offer before the start of the pandemic and they are likely to be part of the job description again in the future.
As a Harmony Glassworks employee, you would have the option to do your own work as part of the deal and use Harmony Glassworks as your home base studio and sell out of our busy gallery on consignment. You would likely be able to generate high sales out of our gallery. We host high-profile guest artists which is lots of fun. The pay level depends on your skills. I’m flexible and open to various compensation arrangements including hourly wage or annual salary and studio use.
Maybe you would like to come blow glass for a week or so as a “try-out” for both of us before committing to California. Harmony (population 18) is located in the heart of San Luis Obispo County, California on Highway 1. We think of SLO County as the nicest unspoiled county in California. SLO County is a beautiful lightly populated area along the coast between LA and SF.
If you are interested, please e-mail me a brief resume as well as a sampling of your portfolio of works to Eric Dandurand at firstname.lastname@example.org
